Reentry Rise Up and Run 5K Run/Walk
The County of Santa Clara Reentry Resource Center and its partners are hosting a Rise Up and Run 5K run/walk to raise money for new clothes for individuals leaving incarceration. As part of our efforts to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community, we have the opportunity to promote wellness and social change by helping our clients to obtain jobs and housing, pursue their education, skills development, and personal goals. All of that starts with a clean set of clothes. We invite you, our co-workers, neighbors, and fellow residents to join us in our endeavor to aide these individuals with basic resources to change their lives as they reincorporate back into society and begin giving back to our community.
We are hosting both an in-person 5K this year at Hellyer County Park as well as the option to run/walk it virtually on the day and time of your choice between October 16, 2021 and October 30, 2021. Runners will receive a Rise Up and Run race shirt, medal, and tips on how to train. A cell phone app will be available to time each participant’s run or walk and upload their results to the race website.
