Reentry Resource Center (RRC) Social Services (SSA)

Speedy access to Public Benefits for individuals recently released from custody. The SSA Office at the RRC provides Financial Assistance (CalWORKs, General Assistance, Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants), Food Assistance (CalFresh Food) and Health Coverage (Medi-Cal) that can be essential for a streamlined and successful reentry.

Anyone can use the RRC’s Social Services Office.

CalWORKs

CalWORKs is a program that helps eligible families become self-supporting through temporary cash aid and assistance in finding and keeping jobs (CWES).

CalWORKs Employment Services (CWES) Program


Eligibility and Referral Process

Must be a CalWORKs Recipient or be employed and have received CalWORKs cash aid in the last 12 months. Referred by eligibility worker.

CalFresh (Food Assistance)  

The CalFresh Program helps single people and families with little or no income buy food. In Santa Clara County, people authorized to receive CalFresh benefits can buy food by using a plastic card at a grocery store or other authorized location.

Medi-Cal (Medical)

Health insurance coverage for low-income families.

Depending on income levels, individuals can receive free Medi-Cal or share the cost of Medi-Cal. Apply in-person or online at https://socialservices.sccgov.org/health-coverage
