Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County provides employment services to reentry clients through job readiness training, job search assistance, and job placement.

Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO)

Provides comprehensive employment services to Probation adult clients including transitional employment, life skills education, job readiness training, job placement, and job retention support. This Agreement is currently enabled by a partnership between the County and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), whereby Caltrans provides compensation in exchange for clients providing litter abatement services along Caltrans owned roadways.

Center for Employment Training

Full time job training school with programs that can be completed in under a year.  There are 10 training programs available for jobs in construction (building, electrical and heating/air conditioning), healthcare, automotive repair, hospitality, IT and education.  Graduates get job placement assistance. CET San Jose also partners with other organizations to support individuals to overcome employment barriers and is open to all regardless of background. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. 

We offer employment training programs, all of which, run from Monday through Friday from 8am-3pm, and are designed to be completed within 9 months. Towards the end of each respective program our students receive job placement assistance through the career center. Our programs are all open enrollment, meaning, you can start at any point during the year.

Operates an employment center that provides training, meals, showers, and daily jobs where workers are paid at the end of the day. Offers a variety of supportive services. Individuals can walk in or call for information. Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Goodwill NOW Program

New Opportunity Work (NOW) Program: provides all participants paid-on-the job training up to 90 days.  Participants will complete employability skills workshops, Moral Reconation Therapy, as well as receive intensive case management.  Goodwill will successfully place participants in regular employment before the 90 days of subsidized employment ends. Once placed, the peer mentor will follow up with each participant for retention and goal setting.  

Eligibility and Referral Process

Clients can be referred through the Reentry Resource Center (RRC). Clients must be drug free. Clients need to visit the RRC in person and register for a referral.

NOVAworks

Provides employment and training services to job seekers through our job centers in Sunnyvale and San Mateo. Services include: career advising, workshops, networking, job leads, employer information and recruitment events.

 18 years or older and U.S. work authorization documentation.

Santa Clara County Intern & Earn is a youth employment program that provides year-round options to engage participants in employment-based activities. The participants are employed in internships at various locations while also participating in workshops and seminars relating to completing applications, interview techniques, resume development, financial education, and exploring opportunities for post-secondary education.

Youth and young adults receiving CalWORKs benefits (ages 16-18), CalFresh benefits (ages 16-21), and current and former foster youth (ages 16-24) are eligible
